I know it has been forever since the last time I posted and I apologize for that. I recently received a shout out from one of my readers and it has inspired me to get this blog back on track. From here on I am going to really kick this blog back into high gear and hope to inspire and motivate along the way!
As for me, just to reintroduce, I am currently 22 years old and weighing in at roughly 180 pounds. I use to train strictly bodybuilding with an emphasis of hitting a single body part. Having been introduced to Spartan Races and obstacle course racing, I now lean towards athleticism and train CrossFit 6 times a week.
In terms of dieting, months back I had safely followed standards of clean dieting. This meaning, I loaded Tupperware with some chicken, veggies, and sweet potatoes. I have now gotten away from that and eat under the “If It Fits Your Macros” lifestyle. This being, I eat 80% “clean” food and 20% “Dirty” food as long as it hits my macros.
I recently just began working full time after graduating college this past May. Holding a communications degree and also being PT certified, I was able to combined both my passions and accepted a position as a Operations Coordinator/CrossFit Coach at a CrossFit gym.
So what I have in mind…
I definitely want to keep you guys informed on my life/goals/desires, but I’d also like to help my readers out in any way possible. If on my chase of my goals you find yourself curious or enroute to the same end result, shout me a question or comment and I’d be happy to help! We are here to motivate eachother!!
So My thoughts for today..
I actually haven’t been able to workout since Monday 😦 Last Tuesday I was bench pressing in my gyms strengthcon and I finally hit my goal of 300LB!!! YA. BUT, in the process, I put WAYY to much strain on my right shoulder and inflamed a tendon. Stupid me, I continued to push through, working out the remained of the week and that Saturday. Well this past Monday, I woke up and my shoulder was in tremendous pain, as to be expected. So I finally bit the bullet and am taking some time off. My diet while during this time off has been pretty solid until yesterday where I had a hankering for pancakes and ended up eating 8 homemade jumbo cakes I made (no these did not hit my macros)
So anyways, after a few days rest, my shoulder is feeling better. I am still going to give it one more days rest, but I think tomorrow I am going to get back after it and train. In terms of dieting, I am going to start clean slate and hit my macros today.
I am a big advocate on goals. I feel that having goals and expressing them is an excellent step to reaching your desired locations. That is why I care to share mine with you!
Goal 1. I have recently signed up for the CrossFit Opens. What this means. CrossFit Opens are the first step enroute to the CrossFit games. If you finish in the top 100 for your region within the US, you move on to regionals. From regionals you move on to the games. With the opens, starting the last Friday of February, CrossFit.com will release the “Open” workout and you complete the workout (It gets video tapped), you then post your score on CrossFit.com and after the FIVE CrossFit Open workouts, you see where you stand. Last year I did not compete in the Opens, this year, I got my eyes on making a good splash on the scene! I may not make the regionals, but I certainly want to put up a good fight.
Goal 2. Clean up my diet. Like what happens to many, During the holidays I had fallen into a little bit of the “Holiday Bulk.” This meaning I slacked on my diet a little. Well in my eyes, spring is right around the corner. I want to start getting shredded up for the beach! I will start sharing my meals with you all to keep me honest!
Goal 3. Prepare for BATTLE! As you know, I am BIG into SPARTAA Races. This year I plan on completeing the trifecta again, only this year in the ELITE category. This means me vs some serious runners. Again, clean up the diet, lean out a little, and run/jump/climb and get ready for the miles!!
Goal 4. Grade A employee. This goal is easily the most important. I accepted this job offer only 2.5 weeks ago so I am still learning the ropes so to speak. I need to really crack the whip, memorize the material and protocols, and be the best employee I can be.
So there you have it. Jon is BACK IN ACTION! I hope you guys enjoyed my first blog post and I look forward to stepping it up to the next level with all you guys! Have a great day and lets keep CHASING THE TOP!!
