Believe it or not, THIS GUY cooked up something DELICIOUS! At least I thought it tasted good. Before I reveal what it was though, I want you guys to all read this with an open mind 🙂
So I am all about macros. Every day I do my best to hit my Protein, Carbohydrate, and Fat intake on top of obtaining a quality amount of fiber. Today I was a rushed on time in terms of meals. After my night class and a quick double under cardio session with my coach, I came home to an TON of calories I had to make up for. Within my first plate of dinner I had hit my protein intake. For any of you that work hard on hitting your macros daily, I am sure you can understand how great it feels to hit your protein requirement with calories to spar. Having protein done for the day and 40+ grams of fiber already obtained, it was time to stir the pot and really make something tasty to aid in MUSCLE GROWTH!
So fats and carbs, I need fats and carbs. Hmmmm. Well, I LOVE coconut oil. I love cooking in coconut oil (not to mention the HUGE list of health benefits it has for you: coconut oil reduces cholesterol, coconut helps keep weight balanced, its good for skin and hair, and it helps increase your metabolic rate). So why don’t I cook something on the stove in coconut oil.
Now I need some carbs. Not only do I need carbs, I need over 100G of carbs! Boom, bagel. Nearly 50 grams right there. (Light Clicks) Cook bagels on stove in coconut oil!!!.
Now we have that, still need more carbs and a little bit of fat. Well, peanut butter is a must. Why? let’s face it, its peanut butter it needs no justification! Now back to the carbs. Look, look, OH HEY A BANANA!! NOW WE ARE TALKING. MELT PEANUT BUTTER ON BAGEL LAYERED WITH BANANA!
Still, I’m short. I need about 20 more grams of carbs. I open one cabinet, nothing. I open another…..there it is. HONEY. Drizzle honey on the bagel which is now layered with melted PB ad topped with a banana.
I wish I had taken more photos of this dish. I truthfully didn’t think it would be as good as it was. I seriously was in heaven! Each ingredient seemed to compliment the others so well! In my opinion, a wonderful choice to feed the muscles before bed 🙂
