Get ready for a shocker guys! I, the king of plain and bland foods, is going to be sharing a RECIPE for you! Yeah, me, crazy I know. No time to waste, lets get right into it!!
First things first, I will start with a question. WHY DIDN’T ANYONE TELL ME HOW GREAT FETA CHEESE IS!?
I mean I see it in my fridge all the time. My Mom has it on all of her salads. I have laid eyes upon this food for oh so long. Finally today, I decided I would take a look at this suspicious food. I was shocked at what I saw. Has anyone checked the nutrition label on this tub?? This is CRAY CRAY! Only 35 calories, zero fat, 1 carb and 7 grams of protein! That is an awesome addition to any meal. I know I personally have a tough time hitting my protein requirement, so sprinkling this on m meals will certainly help!! Feta Cheese for the win!!
BACK TO THE RECIPE!
So upon entering the driveway post gym, I walked into the kitchen only to realize that I am out of chicken breasts. You know what that means, tuna 😦 Now normally, I just eat the canned tuna right out of the can. Today, I just couldn’t bare that dreaded taste. So being the creative mind that I am, I figured I would toss together a TUNA MELT!
Ready, LET’S GO! So first I drained the can of tuna and scooped it into a bowl. I then mashed the tuna chunks with FETA CHEESE! After that was complete I laid out two pieces of wheat bread and put one slice of american cheese on the bread. I then spread the tuna/feta combo onto the bread. Next I sparked up the frying pan and instead of using butter, I layered the pan with 1 tsp coconut oil. Once spread, I placed the sandwich onto the pan, allowed 2 minutes on both sides, and WALLAH! We have a delicious tuna melt!
After devouring that one, I had to rush to make another. On my second one, I swapped out the feta cheese and instead added Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb seasoning. I also added some spinach to the sandwich.
Both these sandwiches were SOOO good! I never thought I would see the day where I actually liked eating tuna! Not to mention, this is low calorie and High protein! In my first sandwich, the macros read like such: 355 calories, 12 Grams Fat, 24 G Carbs, and 36 Grams of Protein. I know I will certainly be making this sandwich again!
So If you’d like, give this dish a try. Truthfully, I see this as a perfect plate for any occasion, whether it be pre-workout, post workout, or even before bed. If you do try it, let me know how it is. If you make any fixes, let me know as well so I can try!
As always, keep pushing your limits!!
CHASING THE TOP!
