All kidding aside, this holiday has really motivated me. So many individuals around me have begun to set their sights on health and fitness and it has inspired me to really kick my efforts up a notch. I want these individuals to thrive off my energy and passion and use it as a source of motivation while on their own quest to greatness. Also, this holiday weekend allowed me to really boot that sweet tooth craving to the curb. I enjoyed the cakes and chocolate but now its back to normality. Chicken, brocolli, sweet potatoes, oats, etc. You guys know the drill LOL. I am really excited for the upcoming months to continue progressing and aid in others around me with their progress.
Returning to the routine, last night for dinner I had a simple dish of 6 OZ turkey breast and a serving of asparagus. I have really been living off of asparagus for these past few days post Easter to flush out some of this water weight I am holding. Truth be told I actually really like asparagus to boot! I wish is wasn’t so expensive though 😦
Today I hit the gym with Legs on my mind. Week two of Jim Stoppani’s 1-2-3 Lean Program so the rep scheme read like such: 4 sets of 6-8 reps
Squats: 230(8) 235(8) 240(8) 250(8)
Deadlifts: 230(8) 235(8) 240(8) 250(8) I’ll be truthful I didn’t even realize I was using the same weight for both exercises till about my 3 set of deads. I don’t know if this is a good thing or bad thing….
Chain Squats (135 +chains) 2 Sets of 25 Reps
Overhead Squats: 5×5 with 95 LB
Bodyweight Squats 4×25 varying feet position every set
I really want to start improving my overhead squat. I feel that this is a lost exercise so improving on this will greatly benefit my athletic abilities. We shall see how things go 🙂 How many of you guys overhead squat? Tips? Advice?
