Hey everyone! Whats going on?!?! I hope you are all having an awesome day thus far and KEEP RUMBLING through on a positive note! Let’s make today great!
Take a look at my dinner last night. Looks pretty appetizing right?? 5 OZ of shredded chicken, 1 cup of kale and a handful of leafy spinach. Keep in my the rest of my family was surrounding me eating LOADED Pulled Pork…..one of my favorite dishes
THATS WHAT I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT MEAL!
We are 6 weeks into the competition within my gym and furthermore my contest prep. To my recollection, I have only had 2 legitimate cheat meals of ice cream and 1 meal I considered a semi-cheat of sweet potato fries. No alcohol, no pizza,no PULLED PORK! Scarfing down these reoccurring meals day after day is starting to take its toll on me! haha It’s weird for me to say this but I love that the stress of this is getting to me. I love it because it is showing me that this road to a competition is tough and you face alot of road blocks along the journey. It is testing my mental fortitude and I’m proving to myself that I can do it! Day after day, meal after meal, I am defeating the side of me that is telling me to quit and eat a bag of Doritos. I’m defeating the side of me telling me to gulp down some soda! I’m defeating the side thats telling me I can’t. I’m defeating myself so I CAN SUCCEED! 🙂
You know this war on food is serious when I am even getting sick of BREAKFAST! MY FAVORITE MEAL OF THE DAY! This morning as I poured my liquid egg whites onto the pan, I could already taste the memorized flavor being chewed in my mouth. I’m not sure if you can really see in the picture, but in a saving grace manner, I sprinkled some cinnamon into the egg whites while cooking. The two didn’t really mix well, but it was an experience none the less
Turning away from my food scenario and into actual training talk, this morning we had UT Bootcamp. After waking up at 4:30AM and prepping for camp, I entered my gym to greet the workout “Danny” patiently waiting on the white board. The workout consist of the following..
As Many Rounds As Possible in 20 Minutes
24″ Box Jump for 30 Reps
115 LB Push Press for 20 Reps
For such a simple workout, this workout was BRUTAL! The box jumps weren’t bad, just time consuming. The push presses though, WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY. It took all my might to get that barbell up past about 10 reps. I nearly smacked my face with the bar about 50% of the time LOL.
I was able to complete 3 rounds + 30 Box Jumps and 1 Push Press in the 20 minutes.
After having my cinnamon egg white omlet, I mentally prepared to head back to the gym from my scheduled Back and Bicep workout. After being ROCKED LIKE A HURRICANE from UT Bootcamp, I certainly needed a little encouragement. In efforts of getting fired up and maintaining that state, I busted out the sharpie to my gallon jug
