Happy Valentines Day everyone! I’m wishing you all lots of love on this glorious day! It’s actually really nice out today which is a plus! I got to walk to and from class without being completely frozen and needing to thaw out which was a plus. I hope this warmer weather trend sticks around LOL. Anyways, today is also a great day because it is always nice to see everyone in such a happy, loving, and giving mood 🙂 My house is loaded with cupcakes and sweets of various sources which is getting too me because I’M TRYING TO HOLD OFF! Tough, but I can do this LOL.
So this morning I showed my Shoulders some love with a nice heavy workout. My shoulders need alot of work so hitting them heavy today on my fresh cycle of 5/3/1 was perfect. My max training weight is up to 150 on the military press which is awesome compared to where I started. When I first began standing military presses I could barely do 65LB! Its not about how far you’ve come though, its about how far you and GO so I got to keep progressing!
Week 1: Training Weight 150
60% 5 Reps 90LB
70% 5 Reps 105LB
80% 5 Reps 120LB
Shortcut to size 3 sets all 9-11 reps
Seated Barbell Press 95LB (11), 105 LB (11), 110 (11) (Had to rest-pause the last set)
NEXT EXERCISE UP FOR THE VALENTINES DAY LOVE…..
THE STEEL LOG!
It’s been awhile since I used this piece of equipment so I was UBER excited to throw it back into the mix. The log itself weighs 81 pounds and is not fun when smacked off your face….cough cough
Bar (11), Bar+5’s (11), Bar +5’s (11) (Rest Pause)
CLEANS! (Another new exercise) 5 Reps (135) 5 Reps (145) 5 Reps (155)
DB Lat Raises: 25 DB (11), 25 DB (11), 20 DB (15) (< really wanted to focus on that mind-muscle connection on that last set 🙂
1 Arm Cable Front Raises: 30 Pin (11) 40 Pin (11)x2
Handstand Pushups Supersetted with DB Shrugs
Due to a time constrant of having to study for a test, I needed to superset these. My shoulders were fried by this point of the workout so my handstand pushups really didn’t shine LOL. I will continue to improve!
Shrugs (with 45 DB) 25,25,25.
Give this shoulder workout a try! I really need to bring my shoulders up!!!
So anyways, again I hope all of you out there are having an awesome Valentines day! Remember not to just show love today, but everyday! This world is a great place, we need to continue to promote happiness and love 🙂
HEADING TO THE TOP!
