Goodmorning everyone! Happy Monday. I hope you all had an awesome weekend full of fun and fitness 🙂 Unfortunately mine was full of snow fall, but I still got my gym on none the less!
So I got a couple things I’l like to share with you all today, first, my Monday Morning UT Bootcamp workout. Funny story with Bootcamp. Now the class has a 5AM Class and a 6AM class. I normally always go to the 5AM which requires me to get up at 4:30AM and begin my prep. For some reason, and this may apply to a lot of you out there, I cannot sleep on the weekends when I know I have nothing planned in the morning. It’s such an odd phenomena but knowing that I can sleep in basically repels my body from actually sleeping. It stinks. So I finish the “relaxing” weekend more tired then I was when I began haha. Back to my point, this morning, as my alarm rang, I felt like I could sleep forever. Feeling this tremendous feeling, I gladly turned off my alarm and reset it to 5:30AM so I could catch the 6AM class 🙂
UT BootCamp 10×10 Workout
10 reps, 10 exercises, 10 rounds
Burpees x 10
ButterFly situps x 10
Squat x 10
Pushups x 10
Box jump x 10
Ball slam x 10
Kettlebell swing x 10
OH band press x 10
Lunge x 10 each leg
Sprint (40M) x 10
This workout was really good, definitely built more towards endurance. In my opinion, the sprints were the toughest part. They took a good 2 minutes oppose to the rest of the exercises that you get through in like 30 seconds. This entire workout took me around 1 hour. Give it a try if you’d like 🙂
After a quick trip to the grocery store with my younger sister (I should have taken a pic, I know stupid me!) (BTW I bought her a extra large donut shhhh) I hit up LEGS for a brand new cycle in my 5/3/1 program!

Now with the box jumps, I was wearing a 17 pound weighted vest. The owner of the gym has announced that 6 of the guys in the gym, me included, are going to have a “Jump Off” to see who is the best. The competition will be comprised of two events, who can complete the most jumps within a 2 minute time frame and who can jump the highest. The competition is in 10 weeks. To prepare for this, I am now going to split my box jumps into two sessions. Heavy weighted jumps on Monday and speed/height jumps on Friday. This is going to be good. Of course, there is a cash prize for the winner. The pot is TBD.
Finally, I have one more piece of news I am extremely excited to share with you guys. So as you know, I am in this competition with my gym that’s been on going for awhile now. We are currently in week 5 of 24. As many of you may also know, I am also registered for the Spartan Race this August. Well, through an inspiration talk from my father, yesterday I added to this entree. Yesterday I signed up for the Tough Mudder in June! But that’s not all, I also signed up for the Spartan Super in September and the Spartan Beast a few weeks after that! If I complete all three races, I will have achieved the Spartan Trifecta and earn a spot on Spartanrace.com website forever! I’m so excited for all of this and I cannot believe how much work it is going to take but I’m so ready. I graduate in May, I’m racing all summer, I’m suppose to compete in my first physique show, I am going to be hunting for a REAL JOB! Man I’m going to be busy, but it is going to be so much fun! I can’t wait to share this entire experience with you guys!
Let’s get after it, we got a lot of work ahead!
