Good morning everyone. I hope you all had a great week and are mentally and physically prepared to make this upcoming week a great one 🙂 Word to you all, this is going to be a long rambling post because I’m in that type of mood LOL. LEGGO!
So today’s the 14th of January. I’m feeling good. At my gym, we are in the second week of the competition and things are going well. Transitioning into my first week of dieting was a little tough, but I’m getting into the groove of it now. I feel like that’s the biggest thing with a diet, getting over that initial hump and getting into the rhythm of it. Embracing that mindset and blocking out the rest. I’m happy. This diet I’m on looks promising and much different then others I have tried so I will be curious to see where it takes me. I am a bit concerned because one of the first addresses within the diet is no cheating for 30 days. By doing this, you will see truly how your body is reacting to the diet and allow for optimal adjustments. Normally I wouldn’t have a problem with this, but I’m about to enter my last semester at college. As a second semester senior, I know from viewing seniors years past that they go pretty crazy in these last few months. I’m cringing at some of the temptations I will be greeted by. I just have to remember how badly I want to win this competition and how much easier my contest prep will be for my first show FOLLOWING my gym competition. Only time will tell how things truly go, but I know I’m going to try and stay headstrong through it all.
Training wise, things are going well. Last week went good, most of my lifts were on the deload cycle of my 5/3/1 so no PR’s or anything but deload week means this week is week 1 and 5 pounds being added so I am excited for that. Towards the end of the week I started developing a pinch in my inner elbow on one of the joints. I ignored it till Friday (happened on Wednesday) and the pain still lingered so I went to the doctors. He told me I had a case of acute tendinitis . I certainly do not want to develop that at my young age so I went really light on my Saturday lift and then took Sunday completely off while icing and popping alive every chance possible. Today things feel much better and after this mornings UT Bootcamp workout, I didn’t experience any pain so fingers crossed we are good to go.
I just recently downloaded an APP called “Lose IT” This app helps you track your diet and daily calorie intake. It is so awesome I wish I knew about it sooner. I have been scanning things all morning merely for the fun of it LOL. If you had not had the chance to download it and your serious about your caloric intake, give this app a go.
Aside from all this, things are looking good. I’m happy and looking forward to making this a positive week! I got legs today and am feeling like stirring up something a little crazy to really start this week off on a positive LEG! I’ll be sure to post the workout following its conclusion. Let’s get after it today everyone!! 🙂
