Hey everyone! HAPPY NEW YEARS!
I hope all of you had a wonderful and safe night! God Bless you all and I wish you all a GREAT 2013!! Let’s GET AFTER IT!!
Got a pretty beefy blog today to KICK off the New Years. First let’s start off with a great chest and tricep workout and then we’ll dig into a little nutrition and supplementation talk.
So this morning I started off the 2013 workout war with a chest and tricep battle. I’m on week three of my Jim Welder 5/3/1 program.
Week 3 5/3/1 Max Weight 240
75% for 5 reps 180 LB
85% for 3 reps 205 LB
95% for 1+ reps 230 LB (Hit 3 reps with ZERO spot) YES!
Again if you haven’t checked out the Jim Welder 5/3/1 workout program, check this out with a simple google search. This program will really help you stack on numbers on your main compound lifts (Bench, Squat, Deadlift) I love it and defintely reccomend it.
Following 5/3/1 I repped some flat bench with 185 LB for 10 reps on 3 sets
I then moved on to Incline Dumbbell Bench Press
55 LB for 10.
65 LB for 8
75 LB for 6
80 LB for 7
85 LB for 7
70 LB for 8
65 LB for 13 (<2013)
Light Barbell Incline Superset with Skull crushers: 4 sets 12 reps
Close Grip Bench Press Superset DB Kick Back 4 sets 12 reps
PUMPED AND TOASTED! IF you kicking off the New Year with a Chest and Tricep, give this one a shot and let me know what you think!
Moving onto my nutrition aspect of this blog, I wanted to touch upon my new favoite post workout meal. I workout most mornings around 9:15 AM. When I finish working out, it is normally around 10:30 AM so I think it is still acceptable to enjoy breakfast round two (LOL). To feed my muscles post workout, I always mix up 1 whole egg, 1 cup egg whites, 1 cup of spinach, 1 cup oats, and my newest addition, 1 cup chobani yogurt. I will make a nice omlet with the eggs and spinach and then mix my oats with the yogurt. I was lacking the yogurt for sometime until recently I noticed these in the super market. This No Fat food choice has a great amount of protein and escential sugars to supply your muscles with glycogen following an intense workout. By adding this to my post workout meal, now I am receiving great protein sources from the eggs and the yogurt along with slow buring carbs with oats and fast acting carbs again with the yogurt. If you train in the morning, give this post workout meal a try and make sure you include the 0 Fat Chobani Yogurt! My favorite is Blueberry
In my final segment of this blog, I’d like to touch upon a new supplement I’m really enjoing since I began using it. This product is Musclepharm’s new BCAA supplement: Amino1. This product has an AMAZING profile. Like I mentioned earlier, I train in the morning. Tuesday’s and Thursdays I get into the weight room around 9:15AM. On Monday, Wendesdays, and Fridays I have UT bootcamp from 5AM to 6AM and then get into the gym at about 9AM. More often then not, as odd as it sounds, I don’t get to swig down a ton of water. Whether it be because I just woke up or because I just got back from UT and I am stuffing my face with food. Point being, sometimes I do not get as much water as I should me. What makes this product really unique and helps me out tremendously is its additive of Coconut water. If any of you guys have enjoyed a coconut water, you know where I’m going with this. If you haven’t had the pleasure to try this genre of water, allow me to explain. Coconut water if loaded with electroyles and does a terrific job of hydrating even the most dehydrated of dehydrated. Upon sipping down 2 or 3 gulps of Amino1, my thirst is quenched and I feel very hydrated while battling the iron. You don’t find coconut water in any other BCAA products I have tried or seen on the market.
Ofcourse, Amino1 is packed with the amino acid Luecine which is CRUCIAL in muscle building and muscle REbuilding. AT a ration of 3:1:2, your body can’t help but to build muscle 🙂
One last feature of this product I’d like to touch upon is its addition of Beet Root Extract (Beta Vulgaris) Containing Betaine (High Nitrates). This is an incredable addition to aid and/or induce and INCREDABLE pump! You guys may or may not know but I LIVE AND LOVE the pump! Nitrates are a HUGE factor in building a strong pump. By sipping on this product throughout your workout, you aid in the delivery of crucial amino acids and muscle building properties with the widening of your veins and fight lactic acid formation! Benefit benefit benefit!
Conclusion: I love this product. It’s more then just a BCAA supplement, its a complete muscle building product 🙂 Next time your looking to up your supplement stack, consider adding this product. You can find it for a great price on Bodybuilding.com!
I hope you guys enjoyed the long post! It’s 2013, I’m here to help you guys reach your fitness goals! Let’s do this together. Where heading to the TOP! Hit me up: JSeeWarrior@gmail.com Instagram: JSResults
